Quarantine has caused me to spend a fair chunk of change on things to preserve my mental health. I thank the stars for people that trust in venmo and are willing to do porch pickup with no contact. In the last year I went from a single beast of a canoe to three kayaks. Each of the do or will serve a specific purpose (touring, fishing/rec tandem, and this one marked fun). I present my new to me Necky Zip. She is on the old side (2000 ish?), but should be easier to maneuver/more fun than my touring boat in the canals of Belle Isle and some of the smaller rivers in MI. I’ll be getting it out on some flat water this weekend (early to avoid crowds) as long as weather cooperates. I looked over the hull and there aren’t any cracks, dents or super deep gouges, the floatation foam is in decent shape seat is comfy. I didn’t notice one of the Foot braces was missing until I got home. Ive ordered a replacement set already.
I bought it pretty much on a whim and can’t find much info on the Zip online, if you’ve had one I would love to hear about your experiences, anything in particular to watch out for?
Lastly don’t give me too much flack about the hull in the background. I had it out paddling a couple days ago, and was going to take it out tomorrow till I saw the weather.
